Mr. Virmani is a distinguished FBI executive with extensive experience in counterterrorism and cybercrime. Mr. Virmani has held numerous leadership positions both domestically and internationally. He has progressed through key supervisory and leadership roles with the FBI.

Mr. Virmani began his FBI career as a special agent in the San Francisco Field Office in 2003, focusing on cyber and counterterrorism cases. He advanced to supervisory roles within the Counterterrorism Division and led the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Oakland. His international experience includes serving as Director of the INTERPOL Digital Crime Center in Singapore, where he guided operational support for 190 member countries against cybercrime threats. He later returned to FBI Headquarters to lead the Cyberterrorism unit and was subsequently promoted to assistant section chief within the Counterterrorism Division's Internet Operations Section.

Upon returning to the San Francisco Field Office, Mr. Virmani supervised the Private Sector Engagement squad before his promotion to assistant special agent in charge of the Cyber Branch. In 2021, he became section chief of the Strategic Partner Engagement Section in the Counterterrorism Division. In 2022, he briefly served as the acting special agent in charge of the Tampa Field Office before his promotion to deputy assistant director in the Counterterrorism Division. Mr. Virmani holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from California State Polytechnic University and a master's in business administration from the Naval Postgraduate School.
